What Is the Formula?
The conversion formula is: <strong>Decimal Hours = Whole Hours + (Minutes ÷ 60)</strong>. For 8h 20m: 8 + (20 ÷ 60) = 8.333 decimal hours. This base 10 format replaces the base 60 HH:MM system for rate based calculations like wage computation.

Rounding and Precision
